Cape Town visit

Richard and I visited Cape Town from 30 December 2016 until 10 January 2017. We flew direct to Cape Town with Edelweiss. We stayed for 11 nights at the Park Inn by Radisson Foreshore hotel. From our 9th floor room we had a great view of Table Mountain. We managed to see most of the sights, had some great meals and visited Robben Island and a wine region. Tuesday 10 January

Breakfast at the Park Inn by Radisson hotel

We were up early for breakfast and to leave the hotel. The shuttle bus was replaced by a taxi to the airport and we arrived and checked in nice and early. Then we went through the usual checks and I had chance to buy a couple of things in duty free. Richard also bought another bottle of wine.

Our flight left on time and took eleven hours. Our seats weren't very comfortable, with two men in front who reclined their seats for the whole flight. We got two meals and some drinks, non-alcoholic as we were in Economy.

We left Cape Town at 23 degrees and arrived in Zurich at 0 degrees. After a wait for our bags, we got a taxi home. There was snow on the ground. Our apartment was fine, and now all we have to do is clear away the Christmas decorations!

We enjoyed our holiday very much. It went pretty smoothly.
